Import Monzo CSV

Use this when you have a Monzo CSV export.

  1. Open Statements.
  2. Select the Monzo tab.
  3. Drop or select one or more CSV files.
  4. Leave files as separate batches, or select the merge option to combine them.
  5. Start the import.
  6. Wait for the progress dialog to finish.
  7. Open the created batch from Import History.

During import, GrantKeeper may:

  • parse CSV rows,
  • create batch entries,
  • download receipt images from receipt URLs,
  • check each receipt's amount against its transaction,
  • generate conversion evidence for non-GBP transactions,
  • suggest a purchaser,
  • set VAT for each entry from its receipt.

Both checks finish inside the progress dialog, so their results are ready when you open the batch.

Monzo categories help categorise imported entries. They are mapped into the app’s Travel, Materials, Overheads and Other categories; unfamiliar bank categories are considered alongside the vendor and description. Review the result before saving.

Monzo VAT starts conservative because Monzo CSV data does not provide the same structured VAT information as some Revolut exports. Review VAT before exporting.

Money-in rows appear in Money In Review, already sorted into matched refunds, credits resolved automatically, and the few that need your decision.
