Grant Status and Lifecycle
Every grant has a status derived from its dates and whether it has been archived. The status decides whether the grant can be chosen on an entry.
| Status | Meaning | Selectable on entries |
|---|---|---|
| Starts soon | The start date is in the future. | Yes |
| Active | Inside the grant period, or no end date set. | Yes |
| Overtime | Ended within the last 7 days. | Yes |
| Ended | Ended more than 7 days ago. | No |
| Archived | Archived by hand, regardless of dates. | No |
Two parts of this are deliberate:
- A grant is selectable before it starts. Purchasing usually begins before the official award start date, so upcoming grants appear in the dropdown straight away.
- A grant stays selectable for 7 days after it ends. This is the Overtime window, and it exists so late invoices can still be filed against the right grant. Overtime grants are badged in amber so it is obvious the grant has run out.
Active is the normal state and is not badged anywhere — only the exceptions are called out.
Grants that are Ended or Archived move into the Archived & ended section on the Grants page. Their entries and totals are untouched; they simply cannot be chosen for new entries.
